Cultural Identity Reflection

Hey guys

Today I am going to be writing about my Cultural Kete.  This is where we find out what our culture is, then we chose a practice and start gathering information on that practice and until the finishing date, where we present our work for all the school to view. On the day of presenting our work on period 3 our teacher brought us out to the stage for a few performances and then we walked around looking at everyone's. The culture that I am from and have been working on is Scotland but I was not born there but my dads side came from there my practice that I have been researching is games and sports so I found a sport/game which is Caber Toss  and I made a question my question is How was Caber Toss developed and why is it significant to Scotland  and did my work on it. Here are three things that I want to share about my work 1. Caber toss was developed in a war when the soldiers needed to cross the freezing cold rivers they got big logs and threw them across to make a bridge 2. A caber the logs is made from a Larch tree 3. To play the thrower must lift the Caber and cup the small end have a small run up and then throw the pole is to land straight and then flip over so the small end is opposite the thrower. My feelings about the day were proud that I finished in time and had some good work to finish with and the culture being celebrated I felt happy and proud to be in that culture.

Here is my work
